Position Type:
Full-time
Pay Rate: Hourly, based on experience + commission
We're hiring a Collision Estimator / DRP Coordinator to be the front door of our collision department — the person who writes the estimate, works with the adjuster, keeps the customer informed, and makes sure every hour our techs put in actually gets paid.
The person who succeeds here writes a complete first estimate, documents everything with photos, and gets supplements approved without a fight — while making a stressed-out coach owner feel taken care of.
This isn't a desk job that only answers the phone. It's a build-the-program job. You'll help us earn and keep Direct Repair Program (DRP) relationships with the insurers who write RV and motorcoach policies, set up our estimating workflow, and work hand-in-hand with our Lead Collision / Paint Technician to keep cycle time down and quality up.
Convenience RV is a vertically-integrated Class A RV operation in Willis, TX — sales, parts, service, storage, rentals, collision. We're growing toward a multi-bay, multi-phase facility, and the systems and processes are being written right now. If "I built this program" sounds better to you than "I followed the playbook," read on.
Growth Path
This role starts as our collision office of one. As Phase 1 brings our new facility and collision bays online, this position is expected to grow into Collision Manager, owning collision revenue, the DRP program, carrier relationships, and the front-office staff who join you.
What Your Day Looks Like:
Estimating: Damage inspection, photos, and complete estimates in CCC ONE, Mitchell, or Audatex — plus RV-specific parts and labor research where the database runs out.
Insurer & adjuster work: Submitting estimates and photos, scheduling field and virtual inspections, writing and negotiating supplements, and following DRP guidelines for each carrier.
Customer communication: Intake, authorizations, deductibles, rental and storage coordination, status updates, and the delivery walk-through.
Parts & production flow: Ordering and tracking collision parts with Parts, scheduling the repair with the Lead Tech, and keeping each job moving on the production board.
DRP program management: Tracking carrier KPIs (cycle time, severity, CSI, supplement rate), carrier reviews and audits, and pursuing new DRP and fleet relationships.
Closeout & billing: Final invoices, insurer payments and direct deposits, deductibles collected, and complete files in Fullbay.
Required:
3+ years as a collision estimator in a body shop, dealership, or insurance setting — RV, motorcoach, marine, or heavy-truck experience strongly preferred.
Proficient in at least one major estimating platform — CCC ONE, Mitchell, or Audatex.
Working knowledge of insurance claims workflow: first notice of loss, inspections, supplements, total-loss thresholds, and direct-pay.
Strong customer-communication skills, especially with customers on the worst day of their trip.
Comfortable in MS Office 365 and cloud-based software; competent two-handed typing.
Clean MVR at hire and annual recheck. Position is conditioned on insurability under the company’s commercial auto policy.
Preferred:
I-CAR training (Estimating track) and/or ASE B6 Damage Analysis & Estimating certification.
Experience managing DRP relationships, including carrier KPIs and audits.
Experience with fiberglass, gelcoat, and cap repair estimates, and sourcing parts from RV and chassis manufacturers.
Former insurance adjuster or appraiser — a strong plus.
Familiarity with Fullbay shop software and QuickBooks Online helpful but not required.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
Full-time, in-person, on-site in Willis, Texas. Remote work is not applicable.
Standard schedule Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 30-minute unpaid lunch.
Office and shop environment; walking the lot and climbing ladders to inspect roofs and caps.
Lifting requirements: up to 25 lbs occasional.
Occasional local travel to inspect damaged units or meet adjusters.
Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly pay commensurate with experience, non-exempt — eligible for overtime pay at 1.5× for hours worked over 40 in a workweek.
Commission on collision gross — a performance-based incentive tied to written and closed collision sales, established as the department beds in.
Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance available; paid time off; employee discount; professional development assistance, including I-CAR and estimating-platform training.
Career growth: clear path to Collision Manager as Phase 1 brings the collision bays online.
